Kai’s appearance did nothing to soothe my fear. ![]() I could only recall shadows and a sense of deep dread. As I tried to remember the details, the rest of the nightmare disappeared like mist. “Kai?” It took a second to register that the tunnels hadn’t been real, Eurus’s voice and the grasping shadows only in my mind. Not a vengeful god, but a furious prince. ![]() “No fire, you maniac! You’ll kill us all!” Blinking against the glare of lanterns, I beheld a livid gaze-dilated black pupils ringed by golden honey-brown. “Not on my ship, you don’t!” Warm hands gripped my wrists. ![]()
